6th - 8th Grade
At CMYK Art Studio, our classes for 6th - 8th graders are all about exploring your creativity and developing your own unique style! You’ll learn how to use art materials the right way, try out cool techniques, and build on your knowledge of art and design. Plus, you’ll get to experiment with advanced materials while gaining the confidence to express yourself. All of this happens in a fun, safe, and positive space where you can make new friends, cheer each other on, and let your imagination run free!
Afterschool Art Intensives
Join us for a 4-week after-school Art Intensive where you’ll get to explore a different art medium in every class series! With small groups of up to 8 students, you’ll have plenty of one-on-one guidance and space to grow your skills. Together, we’ll go over the proper way to use materials and experiement with developing new creative art techniques—all while having fun! Each session also includes a group critique where you can share your work, get feedback, and support other students while building your confidence and creativity. Classes for this age group will take place in our upstairs studio.

Make Your Own Zine

Cost: $125 for 4 classes
Create your own 'zine' (magazine) from start to finish as you brainstorm ideas, design pages, and assemble a mini-magazine that shares your unique vision. Register.
Art for a Cause

Cost: $125 for 4 classes
Students will create meaningful art inspired by causes they care about, learning how art can communicate ideas, inspire change, and give back to the community. Register.
Glaze + Gouache

Dates: April 13, 20, 27; May 4
Cost: $125 for 4 classes
Experiment with rich layers and bold color by combining translucent glazes with opaque gouache to create dynamic paintings that explore texture, layering, and blending. Register.
Punch Needle Designs

Discover working with fiber to create punch needle designs! Learn the basics of this tactile technique while creating bold patterns and images that turn yarn into vibrant, textured artwork. Register.
Stretch + Paint a Canvas

Cost: $125 for 4 classes
Learn how artists prepare their own materials as you stretch and prime a canvas yourself, then design and paint an original artwork with acrylic paint. Register.
Color Theory

Students will explore color mixing, contrast, harmony, and mood while creating dynamic art that showcases intentional color choices. Register.
